Hello! I have a similar issue... My Asus K55A laptop hangs while booting before and during the OEM GOP splash screen... And HD 4000 Control Panel doesn't detect the GOP driver as being loaded! It shows vBIOS version 0.0 only. I assure you that Win8.1 Pro x64 IS installed in UEFI mode on a GPT partitioned SSD and the BIOS has Fast Boot enabled and CSM disabled... In the BIOS it DOES show the GOP v3.0.xxxx instead of vBIOS 2132 if I enable CSM. I have horrible display graphics all around including in the Metro interface... DirectX 11 doesn't work properly because WinSAT detects the driver not being WDDM 1.3. I'm forced to use a 10.18.10.3308 driver which Windows only detects... I currently have v3412 manually installed with the 3308 driver update HIDDEN. I don't understand because with my OEM Win8 x64 Single Language, Win8 does detect the driver as WDDM and I CAN update to any Intel driver without any issues... v3316, 3345, 3412 and even the prior v9.x drivers... Any ideas?
