Intel Core i7-7700 kaby lake

Fatal1ty B250M Performance

Kingston HyperX KHX2133C14/8G

Asus ROG STRIX 1080

80+gold. chieftec a-90

HDD: WDC WD1003FZEX-00K3CA0

SSD: INTEL SSDSC2CT180A4, INTEL SSDSCKJW120H6

Hello TeoDoR and AlexeyL:

Thank you very much for joining the Processors community.

Thank you very much as well for providing that information and details about the system you are using.

In regard to the problem with the temperature jumping or spiking, I just wanted to let you know that we are currently doing a research on this matter, even though the model of your processor is not the unlocked version, we will still further review this case since the problem seems to be related to Kaby Lake processors. I will also include your system information on the report we are using to complete the investigation.

As soon as I get any updates or a possible resolution for this issue, I will post all the details on the following thread:

/thread/110728 https://communities.intel.com/thread/110728

I hope the above information was useful for you.

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards

Hello Alberto.

Actually, this thread is started by TeoDoR, not by me So you'd better ask him, if solution works for him.

If you are talking about solution, suggested in , then no, didn't help. I have Gigabyte motherboard and I don't have option called "CPUID SVID SUPPORT".

Yes, CPU temperature can be lowered by manual setting of VCore to 1.2 or below (if below, you need to make lots of stress tests to make sure system is stable).

But the main point in this issue for me is - why cooler is not hot, if CPU sensors says it is 90-100 C? I created separate thread for this question here:

Hello TeoDoR:

I just wanted to check if the information posted above was useful for you as well and if you need further assistance on this matter?

To AlexeyL:

Thank you very much for letting us know that information, we really appreciate that.

And yes, there are many options provided by different peers on the original thread, but Intel is still working on this matter so please keep checking that thread.

Any questions, please let me know.

Hello TeoDoR:

We are sorry to hear that.

Thank you very much for providing that information

In that case, please keep checking the thread provided above, since Intel is still working in order to try to find a possible resolution for this matter.

Any questions, please let me know.

Mihei, Just to let you know, the t-junction for the Intel® i7-7700K processor is 100°C, so as long as the processor is showing a temperature that is less or equal to that value, it is consider normal and expected, look under "Package Specifications" to confirm that information:

http://ark.intel.com/products/97129/Intel-Core-i7-7700K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_50-GHz http://ark.intel.com/products/97129/Intel-Core-i7-7700K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_50-GHz

We do have a tool to test it, it does an overall test including a temperature test, if the processor passed the test, it should be working fine:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool

Remember that this thread is in regard to the temperature suddenly spiking, going up and down, so if your processor is overheating, then please submit your inquiry on a new thread, the reason for that is that every scenario is different, even if the same product is being used, so, for us to further assist you to try to fix the specific problem the processor might have, please submit a new thread:

Let me apologize for any inconvenience.

Regards,

Alberto
