Hi guys,
I've been trying to figure out a solution to this and it's driving me insane.
The display brightness automatically changes depending on what's on the screen. For example, if I'm on a website with a white background the brightness will be normal, 100%, but if I switch to a website with a black background the display will automatically dim.
I've looked into this topic indepth and I have tried every solution there is. I cannot figure out how to make this feature go away. I've turned off 'adaptive brightness' in Power settings, as seen here,

I have tried disabling 'Sensor Monitoring Services' in the Services section of Computer Management

I have disabled Power Saving Technology in the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel

And yet, this still happens. It happens when I'm plugged in and on when I'm just running on battery.
I've tried just about everything and I still can't figure it out. I've tried reinstalling drivers and still nothing. I don't know if this is an ASUS problem, an Intel problem, or a windows 10 problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello jrobichau,
Thank you for joining the Intel communities.
Try accessing the Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel and press F8 on your keyboard to set you graphics to defaults.
If this does not work try the following:
Uninstall the Intel® graphics driver, please see http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005598.html Uninstalling the Intel® Graphics Driver and Intel® Display HDMI/Audio...
Download the latest Intel® driver here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25749/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40-?product=86210 Download Intel® Beta Graphics Driver for Windows® 7/8.1/10* [15.40]
I suggest uninstalling the Nvidia driver as well and reinstalling it, restart your system every time you uninstall the drivers and you can download it from the https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/X555LN/HelpDesk_Download/ ASUS website.
After that is done, install the Intel® graphics driver first and then the Nvidia driver.
As well I recommend updating all the drivers from the ASUS website and Windows update.
I hope this can help.
Best wishes,
Ivan
