Ok, I may have typed a bit hastily. From Intel's website:
1.8 GHz 2.9 GHz
I'm wondering the same. I didn't run the diagnostics tool, but the task manager showed that the processor was idling on ~2.75 GHz. BIOS 0036. Power management was set to high performance. I didn't check the frequency while using any of the other profiles. I'm thinking that it must be an issue. It's probably supposed to idle at 1.8 GHz, with turbo boost up to 2.9 GHz during load. If it turns out that this is an actual issue, I would demand a replacement, as its life time probably has been reduced by constantly running on around 2.7 GHz.
I would like an official answer. Is this an issue, or not?
- Enter the BIOS and hit F9 to set the defaults.
- Is there any background processes on task manager?
- Try testing this with the "recommended" profile.
- Could you please let us know your RAM model and the operating system installed?
Thank you for that information.
I am glad to hear that you are waiting for a replacement.
If you need further assistance let us know.
