Intel 5500 conecting to 4k TV

I have an Intel 5500 connected to a Sony x830c 4k TV. When I use the default settings of 3840x2160 at 30hz it works fine. However, the TV does support 4k @ 60hz. When I create a custom resolution at 60hz, the TV goes dark and will not run no matter what timings I select. I tried to create a custom 4k res at 30hz to see which timings work, but this does the same thing no matter what timing I select. It is possible that the TV is expectiing whatever is being sent on the base 4k 30hz signal. Any idea what that is and how I would replicate it @ 60hz?

Thanks

Hello glenfinen,

Thank you for joining the Intel communities.

Could you please reply with the DxDiag report to help you better?

You can follow the steps how to get it at:

Thank you for the information you have provided to us.

According with processor specifications I can see that this processor support 3840x2160@60Hz only using straight display port connection and 2560x1600@60Hz using HDMI 1.4.

You can see this information here:

http://ark.intel.com/products/85214/Intel-Core-i7-5500U-Processor-4M-Cache-up-to-3_00-GHz Intel® Core™ i7-5500U Processor (4M Cache, up to 3.00 GHz) Specifications

If you are using straight display port connection please try then the latest driver for the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25484/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40- Intel® HD Graphics 5500
