In order to check the generation of the processor you have, you can do it by following the steps below:
1. Find the model of your CPU (windows key + R and type msinfo32, hit ok and a window shold be prompt with the CPU and other components in your PC.
2. If your processor is from the Core i family, the first number after the "-" will indicate the generation.
NOTE: If you are using a dedicated graphics card (GPU) you would require to check it's specs for compatibility check with DirectX).
