You can use the NUC as a print server, if that's what you mean. Do you intend to connect a printer to it? Or you just want to consider it 'a printer'?
Any reason why you want to connect using a USB cable?
Would you please provide us with a more detailed explanation of what you would like to do with this NUC?
A print server could be one option, if not please let us know so we can further assist you on this.
Hi, i just want to know if is possible to consider the Intel NUC as a printer.
So, if i connect the NUC to a PC with an USB cable, the PC will "see" the NUC as a printer.
When the PC want to print something, he will click print button and select the NUC in the printer list.
This process won't create a paper document but it will create a PDF file on the NUC.
If it was me, I would skip the NUC altogether and just save file as a pdf on existing PC. It's cheaper that way.
But you can "print" to a pdf if that's your preference without the need for another PC.
You probably want the NUC as a backup/storage, great idea.
Yes, criXsan, is cheaper but isn't what I have to do.
I need to transform the NUC into a printer because i have to extract data from the printed documents.
1.You'll need a bridged USB cable. Read up:
Create a folder, Print, and share it.
2. When you choose Print in the drop down list pick your pdf creator. Set it up to save in the shared folder on the NUC.
Thank you criXsan, but i don't want to install a PDF creator on the PC.
OK... Microsoft Word Print To PDF is an option, that is if your documents are word format
As per your answers, what I get is that maybe you have some PCs probably in an office, and you would like the NUC to be seen as a printer so when the people at the office send something to be printed, it is saved in the NUC instead of being printed.
If that is somewhat the purpose of your inquiry, third party software would be required to do this, also with Microsoft would be a good option to see if they have software that can do that.
I hope this is helpful for you and if you require any further support for Intel® products, feel free to contact us back.
