Compatibility question - memory card DDR3

Hi! I'm a girl from Russia and may be I'm asking a wrong question in a wrong place but where i can ask - will a new memory card fit my mother board for sure?

Memory card - KINGSTON KVR16S11S8/4 DDR3 - 4Гб 1600, SO-DIMM, Ret (http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KVR16S11S8_4.pdf http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KVR16S11S8_4.pdf - I guess it's it)

Mother board - Mobile DualCore Intel Pentium B950, 2100 Mhz (21x100), Sandy Bridge.

Chipset - Intel Cougar Point HM65.

They are ok. Why that may happen?

This is not a motherboard; it is a CPU. Run CPU-Z again and look at the Mainboard tab.

Why not buy another Samsung stick? Samsung actually manufactures its own DRAM chips, while Kingston buys DRAM chips from the actual manufacturers.

Is that mean that i cannot add 4 Mb memory to 2 Mb existed? 4 is maximum for my board??

Because the memory controller has been integrated into processor, rather than located on the mainboard, so this 4GB is a soft limitation. Pentium B950 supports DDR3 memory up to 16GB. Such Notebook computer might provide two slots for memory modules, in other words, you could plug two memory modules onto your notebook computer. But please make sure that the desired memory modules are the normal DDR3 (not DDR3L, not DDR3U, not ECC memory modules, not Registered or Buffered memory modules, not AMD-exclusive memory modules found on China mainland market) and do not exceed 4GB per module. Any one meets such requirements would work well on your computer.

Janagewen is correct regarding the mismatch between the CPU which supports up to 16GB, and the motherboard which only appears to support up to 4GB. For some unknown reason HP added this restriction. I recommend contacting HP and asking them about this. Or ask in HP forums (hp.com, Forums, Notebook Forums, Notebook Hardware and Upgrade Questions). It is possible the 4GB limit cannot be exceeded, but it also might be a misprint or a soft limit (sometimes it works and sometimes it does not). You already have the latest BIOS (F.39). Do you know anyone with a spare 4GB SODIMM stick to try and see if the PC will recognize it?

It was such a pleasure to read your professional answers and to get information I wasn't able to find myself

At the end I managed to find a shop with a noname not-packed 4 Gb DDR3 memory module and with a shop assistant agreed to let me try this module before buying it. So I came to the shop with the laptop and put this module inside. Windows found it and worked well and fast so I happily bought it!
