I uninstalled my Intel HD graphics adapter and want it back. Help!

    wildbill562

I uninstalled my Intel HD graphics adapter, thinking it was interfering with my AMD Radeon graphic card. It wasn't. Now You Tube videos take 10 seconds to load. I removed my CMOS battery for an hour, hoping to reset the BIOS, but there is no mention of graphics at all in my ASUS BIOS. i want the integrated graphics card back.

Also, I downloaded the latest Intel graphics drivers, but they will not install. "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software. win64_153336.

          Hello, wildbill562:

I would like to gather some information to provided you with the proper steps on how to enable this again.

-Please access: Download Intel® System Support Utility

-Download and install the SSU.exe file

          -Scan your system

-Once finished, save the report and attach the file in your answer.

I look forward to your reply.

          Regards,

            Hello, wildbill562:

I was not able to open this file, it could be corrupted.

May I have the model of your processor?

Also, if this is an OEM device, please provide me with the brand and model number.

I look forward to your reply.

              Esteban,

Thanks for following up on this. The text file opens in Notepad. I just removed the dot between SSU and Sanders. I will paste the full contexts below.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30GHz, 82801 PCI Bridge - 244E. Should have an Intel HD 3000 graphics adapter, second generation, according to my research. The current driver should be WIN64_152824.exe. The motherboard is an ASUS P8H67-M EVO, Rev 3.0. All purchased brand new in 2011. All working well until I tried to optimize my ATI Radeon HD 5770 Sapphire video card by disabling (uninstalling) the Intel HD 3000 graphics adapter. Looking forward to your advice and solution, my friend.

              Bill

                Hello, wildbill562:

Thank you for the information provided.

While using dedicated graphics cards, the integrated graphics of the CPU will be disabled because the GPU will be taking care of the graphics tasks in your system.

In this case my recommendation would be to double check the possible driver updates for your Graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 5770 Sapphire).

                Regards,

                Esteban C

                    Hello, wildbill562:

I understand you want this back, let's do the following:

                    1. Remove your graphics card from the computer.

                    2. Connect the video cable (HDMI, VGA, DVI or DP) to the on board video connection.

                    3. Turn on your computer.

                    4. By doing this, the computer should automatically recognize the swap and install the Intel® HD Graphics adapter.

                    5. Once done, you can add the dedicated graphics card again.

I look forward to your feedback regarding this.

                    Regards,

                    Esteban C

Good idea. I did you suggested. Unfortunately it did not work. Just VGA graphics.

                        Hello, wildbill562:

I see, let's do the following:

                        1. Without the graphics card connected to the system, access the device manager.

                        2. Click where it says Scan for hardware changes (refer to screenshot below).

                        3. If the adapter is recognized, great.

                        4. After doing this, install the latest drivers for Intel® HD Graphics 2000, this is the graphics engine for the Intel® Core™ i5-2500 Processor.

                        5. Once you have the display adapter available, add your GPU if desired and install it's drivers.

                        hardware changes.png

Please make sure you select the correct OS and version (32/64-bit)

Download Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7/8/8.1-32bit

Download Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7/8-64-bit

I look forward to your outcome with this.

                          Esteban,

Thanks for sticking with this issue. I did as you suggested. No luck. However, the Standard VGA graphics adapter now appears in the Display adapters section rather than the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section. I even turned the computer off and rebooted to see if Plug and Play would recognize the Intel HD Graphic adapter, but no luck. If there is an installation file you can send me, please do.

                            Hello, wildbill562:

Is this without the dedicated graphics card connected to your system?

If your computer has a Brand, meaning that you purchase the whole unit already built, my recommendation would be to look for the drivers in the manufacturer's website.

If this is not the case, did you try with the driver download added before?

Please make sure you select the correct OS and version (32/64-bit)

Is this without the dedicated graphics card connected to your system?  YES

If your computer has a Brand, meaning that you purchase the whole unit already built, my recommendation would be to look for the drivers in the manufacturer's website.   My computer does NOT have a Brand. I built it myself.

If this is not the case, did you try with the driver download added before?   YES

It seems like there is no software for the driver to drive. When i uninstalled it, it was truly uninstalled. Which is why I need you help. I need the software files, with instructions on how to install them.

Here is the error message i get when I try to install the driver.

I understand, lets install the following drivers:

                                  Esteban,

I tried to install the 3 drivers you mentioned. The chipset driver says it installed correctly and prompts me to reboot. After i reboot, I check the version and it's still the original. So I have no idea why it's not updating , not what to do about it. I have tried it several times.  The MEI update failed. The Graphics Accelerator update failed. i am perplexed as to why i keep getting the error message: Your computer does not meet the minimum requirements, when it clearly does.

                                  1. Double-click Display Adapters.
                                  2. Right-click the Intel® Graphics Controller and click Update Driver Software.

I cannot install the graphic driver because the software is GONE. I need you to provide the software itself. Only then will the driver do me any good.
