    Monitor Mode

I have an Intel Edison with the latest Yocto that Intel released.

I attempted to use "Monitor Mode" on the device.

So, if the device is on "Managed mode" it is not possible but if I press the PWR button for 4 seconds (to open an AP) I can switch from "Master mode" to "Monitor mode". However, it is not really useable and I can't switch any channels with it.

I know that monitor mode was not supported in the past (as seen here https://communities.intel.com/thread/75820?start=0&tstart=0 ).

      But, as seen here https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/brcm80211#broadcom_brcmfmac_driver

the BCM43340 is supported since version 4.0 and can be used for monitoring.

My question would be if it is possible to use monitor mode? And if not directly then what would be needed to do in order to use the monitor mode properly?
