Downloadable version vs Driver Update Utility

I am little bit confused by the version numbers of the HD 4600 driver.

  • The Intel Download center offers for Win10 64Bit version 15.40.10.64.4300. I downloaded and installed the package manually. This package includes driver version 20.19.15.4300
  • The Intel driver update utility tells me version 15.33.38.64.4252 as latest version (see screenshot)

Which version is the latest/correct one?

Why does the update utility report a potentially older version as the latest?

Thanks!

Regards

Jochen

Hello, jgch:

The driver to be used would be the one in the download center.

But, if you are using an OEM solution, this could change since the recommendation is to download the driver from the manufacturer's website.

I have this exact same question. I have an I7-4770k, and you are correct. The intel website says one thing, and yet their Driver Update Utility says another. I'm confused.

Hello, justinabsentia:

The recommended option to download drivers would be the website directly.
