    HD 5500 and blurry resolution on extended monitor

      Provide a detailed description of the issue


      My laptop and extended monitor's resolution are both1920 x 1080. Text on my laptop screen looks nice but blurry on extended monitor.


      Does it fail every single time, or only sometimes?
      If you can offer a % rate please do.

      Every single time

      Hardware (HW)


      Brand and Model of the system.

      LenovoThinkpadT450s Touch screen


      Hybrid or switchable graphics system?
      ie Does it have AMD or NV graphics too?

      Only on-board HD 5500


      Make and model of any Displays that are used to see the issue(see note2 below).
      LFP= Local Flat Panel (Laptop panel)
      EFP= External Flat Panel (Monitor you plug in)

      Laptop: Thinkpad T450sT ouch Display

      Extended monitor: Dell E2211H


      How much memory [RAM] in the system (seenote2below)



      Provide any other hardware needed to replicate the issue.
      ie: Cables & brand, cable type [vga,hdmi, DP, etc], dock, dongles/adapters, etc

      VGA cable





      Hardware Stepping (see note1 below).


      Software (SW)


      Operating System version (see note2 below).

      64-bit Windows 10 Pro


      VBIOS (video BIOS) version. This can be found in “information page” of CUI (right click on Desktop and select “Graphics Properties”.



      Graphics Driver version; for both integrated Intel and 3rd party vendors (see note2 below).



      SW or Apps version used to replicate the issue.



      Single display, clone, or extended (see note2 below).



      Display resolution & refresh rate setting of each display (see note2 below).

      Both 1920x1080(recommend by default windows setting).

      Refresh rate 60hz

      How to repro


      Please provide steps to replicate theissue. 

      These steps are very crucial to finding the root cause and fix.
      A screenshot to illustrate the issue is a huge plus. A video of the failure is even better! Attach to the post or provide the YouTube link.


      1. Turn on laptop, login as normal(everything seems nice) and make it main display
      2. Connect to extended monitor by VGA cable
      3. Choose 'Extend this screen' on laptop
      4. Open IE or Chrome browser, observe its resolution on both displays. It's nice on laptop display, blurry on extended display.
