Include Parse SDK In IoT Eclipse

      Hi All,

I am trying to send and receive parse push notification with my intel edison.

I found this tutorial and i managed to do this with the sample project in the tutorial.

      The tutorial : intel-iot-devkit/parse-embedded-sdks-intel · GitHub

After doing the tutorial i tried to include the parse SDK in the eclipse but I was not able to do this. (I wanted to do this because i want to write code in eclipse, not in the command line of edison)

Here it says that it is possible to write code that implies Parse but i do not know how to do this without getting errors.

Link to the parse embedded SDK : Downloads & Changelogs | Parse  ( on the bottom )

      Can you help me ?

          Hi Alex,

          Which OS are you using?

Are you installing the SDK with the following commands?

          autoreconf  -vif
          ./configure –prefix=/usr
          make install

Are you including the parse.h in the …\iotdk-ide-linux\devkit-x86\sysroots\i586-poky-linux\usr\include folder?

Could you attach the error you are getting while compiling the code?

            Hi Charlie,

I managed to add the parse library in the IoT Eclipse.

I copied the .so , .o files that were generated by the instalation of Parse SDK on Edison into the lib folder of Eclipse. Then I added the .h file of the Parse lib into the include folder of Eclipse and it worked.

            Thank you for the reply,

Now I am having another problem, I tried to work with an Azure IoT hub but it requires cmake version 3 and I tried to install it by downloading the sh install file and running it but it is not working.

Do you have any idea how to install cmake version 3 on intel Edison ?

            Thank you!

              Hi Alex,

I’m glad to know that you have been able to run the Parse SDK.

Which sh file are you running?

I suggest you to download the source files for cmake3.4.2 and follow the instructions to install this package in the README.rst file

              wget https://cmake.org/files/v3.4/cmake-3.4.2.tar.gz
              tar –xvf cmake3.4.2.tar.gz

              From the README.rst:

              Building CMake from Scratch

              UNIX/Mac OSX/MinGW/MSYS/Cygwin

You need to have a compiler and a make installed.

Run the ``bootstrap`` script you find the in the source directory of CMake.

You can use the ``--help`` option to see the supported options.

You may use the ``--prefix=<install_prefix>`` option to specify a custom

installation directory for CMake. You can run the ``bootstrap`` script from

within the CMake source directory or any other build directory of your

              1. choice. Once this has finished successfully, run ``make`` and

              ``make install``.  In summary::

              $ ./bootstrap && make && make install

              I hope this helps

              Kind regards,
