Help with WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR on Win10

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and receive BSODs with WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. I've updated all drivers. I would occasionally get BSODs on Vista 64 before the upgrade to Win10 (again, with update to date drivers).

On Win10, I notice I also get WHEA-Logger Event 19 Warnings, which appear to precede the BSOD. Warnings are always from the same Error Source, Type, and Processor. Since the warnings are all about the same Processor APIC ID, I suspect the processor could be the cause. Any help or suggestions debugging this?

Reported by component: Processor Core

Error Source: Corrected Machine Check

Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error

Processor APIC ID: 1

I don't know if I got these warnings on Vista.

I've attached the four latest minidumps as well as a WHEA-Logger Details below.

I do not overclock. I've swapped out the video card. I've ran memtest for 12+ hours with no errors. Going to run Prime95.

Already ran Intel Processor Diagnostics (pass).

I notice that at least for the WHEA-Logger Event 19 warnings about corrected hardware errors, they only occur while gaming. This happens in multiple games even on the lowest settings. The BSOD happen most often while gaming but do occur while not gaming as well.

I do run FAH for GPU and CPU (paused while gaming). Speccy says CPU is 53C under full load. GPU temp is 65C under full load.

CPU Temps drop to low 40s under normal use and 48C while gaming. Note that BSOD has occurred under normal use - no folding, no gaming. However, the WHEA warnings only occur during gaming (not even during folding). I care more about the BSOD than I do the WHEA warnings.

That linked Windows thread says that components could be "heat sensitive" and failing under even normal levels of heat. How can you test for this? Is there anything in the dumps or logs that can narrow down which component is causing the failure. My understanding is that the CPU should be fine at 53C given the product spec sheet for this processor (Tcase, B3=62.2°C; G0=71°C).

It certainly shouldn't be BSOD under idle use (no gaming, no video, no FAH) at low 40s temps, which although it happens infrequently - does happen.

An Intel(R) processor is not operating system dependent, this means you could install any operating system out-there;however, compatibility on drivers will make your processor or other components to function correctly.

The Q6600 processor is compatible with Intel(R) chipsets that do not have driver support for your operating system: http://ark.intel.com/products/29765/Intel-Core2-Quad-Processor-Q6600-8M-Cache-2_40-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB# @compatibility Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q6600 (8M Cache, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) Specifications

It seems the error come from CPU, MCA bank 4. Intermittent failure like this may relate to CPU bug.

After disabling the processor core with APIC ID = 1, I have no more errors or warnings. Looks like that processor core is just bad.

Glad I narrowed it down but frustrating to only run on 3 out of 4
