Quick easy way to get your Edison to reconnect to WiFi without rebooting

Something that we got stuck with trying to figure out how to get an Edison to reconnect to your AP, after the AP had restarted.

Changing the scan_ssid value from 1(default) to 0 in the wpa_supplicant.conf file, will allow the Edison to reconnect to said SSID automatically without having to reboot the Edison.

We don't use connman at all.

Thanks this looks like it might fix the issue I'm having but I did find this....

          scan_ssid

SSID scan technique; 0 (default) or 1. Technique 0 scans for the

SSID using a broadcast Probe Request frame while 1 uses a

directed Probe Request frame. Access points that cloak them-

selves by not broadcasting their SSID require technique 1, but

beware that this scheme can cause scanning to take longer to com-

          plete.

So I guess this won't fix the issue on networks with a hidden SSID?
