try resetting your bios by shifting the bios configuration jumper.
currently your bios jumper is set at pin 1 to pin 2..
now shift it to pin 2 to pin 3... then start the system..
if the above step can help.. reply me.. i got 1 more advance step
It works. But doesn't solve my odd boot problem nor allow me to downgrade.
i wonder why you want to downgrade the bios..
the bios is upgradable to newers version to support more processor and destroy computing bugs.
can you define more on your problem.. i am very eager to help you..
My problem is that I can not boot the comptuer without essentially turn it on, then off then On again.
The 1st power on from leaving it off overnight goes no where. I get no video. I would have to power it off then back on again before I even get video and for it to POST.
I want to downgrade to 0484 as a starting point one hope it solves that problem. If it does I'm good.
If it doesn't then something else is causing the problem.Of Course right now I can't downgrade to narrow things down a bit.
My last resort is take out teh Q9550 but back my E6850 and really really hope its not the CPU.
I should add this. XP SP3 shows the Q9550 as a P3 Xeon. Cpuz however correctly displays it as the Q9550
oh .. in that case..
plug out the bios jumper from your mainboard and put it aside..
plug in your ODD with the bios version you wanna install..
then opn your system.. pls observe is there any reading activity coming from the ODD "with your bios media inside"
if there is none, i think you got a real bust up DP35DP mainboard, call intel support hotline then
