Hi Community,

I bought a new Dell 1555 Studio laptop a couple of months back. The configuration of the laptop is T6500 processor, 4GB RAM, etc.,

I would like to know whether this processor supports 64-bit OS to install? Currently, I am having 32-bit Vista OS. Also, I would like to know whether I can run VMWare that has 64-bit OS like Windows 2008 or Windows 7 without having the host 64-bit OS installed?

Could anyone know the best answer?

Hi,

Yes the CPU will support a 64bit OS and it also supports VT-x so as long as your other components supprt virtualization you should'nt have a problem

Hi All,

I am new to this forum, and would like to get some help on my below issue.

I have purchased a Dell inspiron 1545 almost an year ago, and it came with

Intel T6500 core 2 duo processor, Windows Vista 64 bit OS.

Now, I need to work with forms 6i / oracle, and would like to know whether

I could be able to format my laptop and install Windows XP prof. to it.

Is it adviceable and whether it is the only solution or can I be able to install

forms 6i with Vista 64 bit itself? Kindly mail me on this and help me on this asap.

Best Regards,

Rajesh R

Installing XP is not dependent on your T6500. You would be better asking Dell support or finding a Dell inspiron 1545 user group for your question.

Regarding the previous post AFAIK the T6500 does not support VT-x.
