Thanks for you answer. with the 220.127.116.113 f6 floppy, I had no such choice, only ICH8 and ICH9 were proposed. With the 'old' floppy that I found on my bench, I was able to use Intel® 82801GR I/O SATA RAID controller driver during the f6 installation. and I was able to boot WinXP.
Then I tried to install the Intel Storage Manager 18.104.22.1683, the installation never finished and the system dis not boot after the force stop. I had to go in Sage Mode, restore to a previous state and it was sort of OK
Any hints would be appreciated, thanks,
The controllers shown in the list may not be the only options (i.e. all controllers may not be immediately visible). If additional controllers are available for selection, you can use the down arrow key to scroll through the remainder of the list.
Could it be the reason why you didn't find ICH7 controller?
It could be ! There were 3 choices, and I tried them all without succes. I don't think tha I could scroll on that F6 screen, but I am not 100% sure. In any case, that could explain the issue with the F6 installation, but does not explain the issue with the Intel Matrix Storage Manager, and this is the problem I am having now, not being able to install it on the system. It is not mandatory to have it, and the system is running fine, but I would like to put it on, because it gives good indication of the RAID status, and signal issue as soon as they arrive. Difficult to find the potential problems without it.
Thanks, best regards,
