I performed an express BIOS Update on my D845GVSR board to get to VA84510A.86A.0056.P20 and lost USB support. At the time I did not know I needed to place the BIOS in maintenance using the BIOS Configuration Jumper to enable USB support. Thinking P20 was some sort of beta, I proceeded to perform an express BIOS Update to P19. I was unaware that BIOS P19 was compatible with only certain processors. http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d845gvsr/sb/CS-020799.htm
Now my PC seems to be stuck with P19 and wont boot. The only thing I can do is place the BIOS Configuration Jumper in maintenance mode and confirm the BIOS is P19. I’ve tried to do a Recovery BIOS Update to P20 using diskette, but have not succeeded. I’m either doing it wrong or P19 won’t let it complete.
What method should I be using to clear P19 out of my BIOS?
After doing some research on the web, looks like my only route is to find a CPU supported by my motherboard and BIOS P19 and P20, install it and then upgrade the BIOS to P20. My thanks to the Intel engineer that made BIOS P19 readily available on the Intel site.
I have exactly the same problem. ¿Anyone knows a solution?
