I am running Matrix Storage Manager 8.9 on an Asus board with the x58 chipset, Win7x64 Ultimate. It has the ICH10R controller. I have not upgraded to Rapid Storage Technology because the existing system has been stable. I just installed two new drives, WD Red 4TB, but in configuring them for RAID 1, Matrix Storage Manager will only recognize 1678 GB of the array.
Is this a limitation of the hardware or software?
Will upgrading to Rapid Storage Technology eliminate the limitation?
If so, are there any known pitfalls to upgrading under Win7/X58/ICH10R.
Thanks for the help!
ICH10R do support a over 2Tb HDDs, but:
1. MB BIOS must have an updated Intel RAID OpRom.
2. RST -era driver, starting from 10.6 as i remember
