D945GCNL Board Problem with 320GB SATA Hard disk

I have Intel D945GCNL Mother Board, 1.60 Core 2 Duo Processor, 2GB DDR2 RAM. This works fine with 40 GB IDE Hard disk, Recently I purchased new Seagate 320 GB SATA hard disk. When I removed my old hard disk and connected new one, It recognises correctly and show in BIOS settings but when try to install windows xp/vista it gives error.

system becomes very slow and while formatting hard disk it gives error message "windows cannot format disk 0. disk configuration error". I tried all the basic settings in bios. I even tried to update bios. but no use I heard that this board will support 320 hard disk. I even tested with another 320 gb hard disk also, same message it gives

any one please help me. now I'm unable to install any OS in this hard disk. Thank you in advance
