We've gone through 3ish generations of Intel Processors where replacing the thermal paste between the DIE and the IHS has improved heat dissipation. Why not start selling the Processors with the PCB and IHS separated in the box for enthusiasts to use their own paste without going through the dangerous process of delidding?
I realize this would conflict with how warranties would work, but still suggesting.
