Hello everyone... I'd like to update subj., but faced with a problems.

I have obtained latest (2012) S3200SH_BIOS52_BMC40_FRUSDR15.zip and flashing tools S3200_Linux.zip. Then extract and run:

      [root@localhost Linux_OFU_970_B3.4]# ./setup_linux

INTEL END USER SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT

Blah-blah, agree to grant your soul to Intel...

Press 'Y' if you agree with the above terms.

Press any other key to exit Setup.

      Installing flashupdt...

The server board could not be identified for correct operation of this update

      Any ideas???????

The prime cause why I'm doing this is kacpid, which takes 50% of the CPU sometimes. Furthermore I've got a warning from DMAR. And I suspect also a problems with cpu power regulation:

          dmesg

          Initializing CPU#0

            Hello,

We regret to inform that the assistance we offer for Linux is limited reason why we recommend using the EFI shell instead to update the firmware and BIOS for this specific system:

            Intel® Download Center

(check the release notes for instructions)

              Thanks, that helps!

But now sys fan(s) is at its maximum speed all the time. Is it configurable?

Was it my fault or not: being asked about chassis type I've answered "unknown". Cause I really don't know, there are no any labels)) And then typed YES, it have fans 1,2,3,4 installed, and NO, it does not have more fans (5, etc). Should I do it again and change my answers??? I don't know how many fans are inside.

                Hi,

It will be really helpful to identify which chassis you have in order to provide accurate information but if not, run the firmware update again and make sure to select option #1 at the end of the procedure (SDR) to update the sensors on the board and ensure how many fans you have connected so they all can be detected and therefore reduce the noise.

Sorry for a delay. There are one CPU fan and one frontal SYS fan connected to sysfan_2 port. So i've reconfigured sdr properly, but nothing changed.

Inside the case I see that SYS fan is at moderate 1960 RPM making no noise. CPU fan looks normal only few seconds after power-on, then goes to crazy 4200 RPM... I'm worried about it's health in the future.
