Command and conquer 3, hd 4600

I tried to run the game today and it gave me the "exception in exception handler" error. I tried "updating" the intel driver and it worked once, I closed the game and a few hours later I tried to play it again and the same error appeared. I updated to the latest driver but no change...

Any ideas?

Attached is my system specs saved from the HD graphics control pannel

Hello Cu3rvo;

Thank you for your inquiry.

I am sorry for the problems at hand. But could you please provide us with more information.

This HD 4600 is part of what model system.

Also when playing the game are you using the internal display or external display.

Which graphic driver version are you running.

Also the most import what error message are you getting when trying to play the game.

Thank you for the information

But checking the web site of the motherboard

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Extreme63.1/ http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Extreme63.1/

I will need to ask which video card are you using.

Could you please send me a copy of the log from dxdiag.

no extra video card, why would I ask with help on the 4600HD if I had an alternate video card? From what I've searched the problem is exactly with the intel video cards. Since I don't have an extra video card I'm stuck with trying to look for solutions in order to play the game.

I don't know what's the matter with the driver version, the link you provided is the last diver I installed, it says 15.40.7.64.4279, I downloaded it and installed it and the actual driver says 10.18.0015.4279

Hi Henry,

I have the same issue with C&C on Windows 7 and Windows 10 with new installations. My computer's motherboard is ASUS Maximus VI Formula with HD4600, and I have no entra graphic card installed. The C&C just gives some exceptions.

While I could play C&C on lenovo's laptop HD4500 with Windows 8.1.

After I googled this issue, I found that GFX_Win7_8_8.1_64_15.33.24.64.3643 works with C&C on Windows 10's HD4600. But the response is quite slow.

Hope this info. could help.

Cheers,

Walker2016

Please advise with the results.

Note: Beta drivers are for testing which means that are still under development and not complete yet. For this reason we cannot assure they will work flawlessly.

Hello all,

I have similar problems with Command & Conquer 3, Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 (incl. Yuri's Revenge) and Command & Conquer Generals with an Intel HD 4600 GPU. Mine is on a Intel Core i7 4790K processor. I also have Windows 10 x64 Threshold 2 installed. I have no additional graphics card. I was able ton run the game - but not with the latest drivers and I'd like to share my experiences.

I have used the Intel Driver Update utility, which gave me the following driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25188/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-64bit-3rd-Gen-BYT- Download Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 64bit (3rd Gen & BYT) Please note: This driver is for the 3rd generation processors, but mine is 4th generation! With this driver I am able to play Command & Conquer flawlessly.

Unfortunately, Windows Update updates the driver everytime because of newer versions. The Intel Driver Update Utility also wants to install this driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25489/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen- Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 [15.40][4th Gen] (the same as mentioned above). With this driver I cannot play any of the games. It results to a black screen when I launch the game. I can hear the music, click sounds in the menu, but I cannot see anything.

Last, I tried the beta driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/de/download/25541/Intel-Beta-Grafik-Treiber-f-r-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40- Download Intel ® Beta Grafik-Treiber für Windows ® 7/8.1/10* [15.40] I hoped that this driver will fix the issues. It also doesn't work. I have the same issues with the official driver.

So the only working driver is the one for the 3rd generation Intel processors - I don't recommend an installation. But it may help intel to find the difference between both drivers.

Best regards,

norbyte

Hello norbyte:

Thank you for the workaround provided.

This could help, but may affect the behavior of the system while using the graphics driver for another generation of processors.

Hi, All:

After digging deeper in other forums, I found out that some people have fixed this by installing a previous version of the Intel HD Graphics drivers.

I know is kind of tricky to test previously released drivers, but if you have the chance, please try it out and let me know, with that we can find out a solution for this matter

Previous drivers are noted on the download page of all the drivers.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25188/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-64bit-3rd-Gen-BYT- Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 [15.33]

Hope I can hear findings from your end guys.

I tried to install the 15.33 driver but it wont install on my HD 5500 laptop, it says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements to install this software". I guess this is because the driver is too old to run on HD 5500.

The oldest driver I could find on the intel site that would install on HD 5500 is https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25150/Intel-Iris-Iris-Pro-and-HD-Graphics-Production-Driver-for-Windows-10-64-bit?product=86210 Download Intel® Iris™, Iris™ Pro, and HD Graphics Production Driver for Windows® 10 64-bit Version: 15.40.4.64.4256 (Previously Released) Date: 8/5/2015

15.40.4.64.4256 driver has the same exception issue as the latest driver Version: Beta 15.40.26.4474 (Latest) Date: 6/24/2016
