invalid IP address

I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 700 series 2-in-1 15.6" laptop with intel core i5, model I7558-4012BLK. Wi Fi connectivity through Intel Wireless-AC. I frequently lose my Wi Fi connection and the response after running the trouble shooter is invalid IP address. I have done a complete reset and used anti-malware and antivirus software several times, but the problem continues both at home and at work. The Wi Fi is frequently labeled Limited and I am unable to get online then also. This does not happen on my other laptop which I use in the same places. Is there a fix for these problems?

Hello computermama,

Here are a couple recommendations that may help with Wi-Fi connectivity issues and the Invalid IP address condition.

Download and Run the http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu Intel® Driver Update Utility and update the Wireless adapter driver to the most recent/ recommended version.

Apply the configuration from the advisory: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/sb/CS-030709.htm?wapkw=wifi+recommended+settings Wireless Networking — What are the Recommended Settings for 802.11n Connectivity?

If the issue persists, provide the following information:

- Operating System version

- Wireless adapter model

- Wireless access point model and firmware version

- Was this working fine before?

- Is this the adapter that came installed from factory with the computer?
