    CPU vs RAM

I'm not sure if this the correct place to post this, as this is obviousley my first post here. I was looking in my BIOS a few days ago, to try and understand some of the things that go on in there, and I noticed my RAM was at 1066MHz vice 1333MHz. I'm curious if this makes a big difference, and would also like to learn maybe why it is that way. Are the frequencies supposed to be matched? Or am I completely missing something?
