I have WinXP SP3 installed and running on a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P motherboard, which has the ICH10R (82801JIR); but the mobo is set to IDE. I want it in AHCI to dual-boot Linux and use a hot-swappable eSATA drive. MSM refuses to install (says it's an unqualified system). What's the magic to set up an AHCI driver so I can reboot WinXP, change the BIOS from IDE to AHCI, and simply run? Nowhere have I seen this as a single reliable procedure for this combination of chipset and Windows. I'd be very happy to get a pointer -- or better, the actual procedure. (So far Gigabyte isn't being helpful.) More information needed here for a meaningful answer? Tx.
