The laptop manufacturer provides with the proper drivers for your device. From Intel® website you will get generic drivers and they might work on your system but the performance might not be the best.
Please visit Acer Drivers and Manuals website and type the serial number of your laptop or SNID.
Network adapter may be disabled in notebook BIOS setup, check it. Also, this model line have Atheros or Realtek network, not Intel one. so get drivers from Acer.
