I have Dell XPS 15 L502X laptop.
According to this page both Intel HD Graphics 3000 and Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 support Intel WiDi: How can I find out if my system (laptop, or notebook, or ultrabook) can support Intel WiDi? – Actiontec Support
So I conclude my system is completely capable to extend my laptop screen to my LG 32LB5820 TV which has built in Intel WiDi support and Miracast?
Also this page: Graphics Drivers — Miracast* FAQ at the bottom says that the article applies to 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 3000/2000. Does that mean that machine is even capable of Miracast?
XPS 15 L502X setup guide says System chipset is Mobile Intel 6 series express chipset HM67 (page 90) Link to setup guide: http://1drv.ms/1NRVMoE
It also says that Intel WiDi is optional on page 96, though I dont get what it means by optional.
So just want to know if I can use Intel WiDi and/or Miracast for screen extension.
Thank you about your enquiry about WiDi Support. The Processor is enable to manage WiDi.
But also I will recommend to check with your Dell Support to ensure certification of the motherboard for WiDi Ready.
Also you can visit the Intel web site http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/widi-how-to-use.html, for step by step help to help you enable WiDi.
Also please ensure that your TV or receiver is WiDi ready.
