Let me see if I got your question right, please correct me if I'm wrong. You are trying to connect your Galileo to a PC (I'm guessing a Linux PC), and your Galileo's FTDI port is not being recognized, right?
If so, then I believe this issue might be related to the FTDI drivers. You can follow the Official FTD Installation Guides to install the latest FTDI drivers into your PC. Let us know what happens.
peter see g_ether is the gadget side driver..so after loading g_ether on the target i am able to see usb0.Similarly for the host the it is cdc_acm...but i am unable to get usb0 interface on host side when i chk dmesg it says cdc_acm probe failed
Let me see if I got you. You want to connect your Linux PC to your Galileo through USB and you want your PC to be recognized as USB0 in your Galileo. Am I right?
If so, then, as I also mentioned in How to transfer a file from host to target using g_mass_storage, you have to set your PC as client. If your goal is to transfer a file from your PC to your Galileo, then there are easier approaches. I posted one example in the thread posted above. I suggest you to check it.
