I have a Mainboard :Asus P5G41T-M LX2/GB with G41 Chipset. I still use XP3.
In desperation I urgently need to download USB2.0.exe as all USB ports corrupted ( Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) Yes, I caused the problem by mucking about trying to recover a USB stick! !!!!
I have no idea whether the ASUS Board relates to any of the Intel® Desktop Board's listed so I can't choose from the list. ASUS don't seem to have XP drivers available. I have tried everything else even system restore etc. The Intel G41 chipset I also downloaded from INTEL is older (2008)than those on a second PC I have access to(2009)
Can't use tools to search as XP is too old like me for the "Update Utility" to work.
If anyone knows of a legitimate download source for all the XP3 USB controllers including the USB Root Hub I would appreciate knowing especially if the above request is not possible.

If this does not help, try uninstalling all (or most) of the USB controllers in Device Manager and restart your system. Bear in mind that you will probably lose mouse operation when completing this task. Then, try the steps from the article again.
