    Configuring a network programmatically

I need to connect to a network programmatically from Node. I assume the best way to do this is through a remote call to a script. It's been easy enough to detect the currently connected network through a call to a script but I'm unclear on how to connect to another available network (WAP) knowing the essid/password. That is, are there system commands besides the interactive configure_edison --wifi

This seems to be close but I don't know the INTERFACE

      wpa_supplicant -B -i INTERFACE -DWext -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
