I have an ASUS ultrabook UX21E. it has core core i7 2677m processor max speed upto 1.8ghz.
Motherboard of ASUSTec computer inc with latest bios available for it.
I am facing a very strange problem. Sometimes when I unplug my laptop from AC to DC it freezes and sometimes it doesn't.
After going through several tests I figured out that on AC my processor is running at a maximum of 2.7 or 2.8ghz which is way beyond 1.8ghz and whenever I unplug if my processor is over 1.8 it freezes.
I have never overclocked my CPU.
I have already tried to reset the BIOS settings to default.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Thanks in Advance.
ASUS has a Turbo configuration on the BIOS and or the CPU-Z utilities. Which will cause the CPU to go to its MAX clock. I will recommend better to get in contact with ASUS at https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/ASUS_ZENBOOK_UX21E/HelpDesk/ to provide you better support on how to configure or lower down the turbo options.
Thank you for your enquiry and the best option is ASUS and this is to keep the warranty on your system just in case there is something wrong with the system board or any other component.
