    Edison CUPS printing setup

    massca

      Hi,

I need help to setup CUPS printing system to use an Edison board (Arduino) to print on a Brother QL 710w label printer.

I'm using the latest image ww25.5-15, installed CUPS using AlexT repo. These are the packages I installed:

      # Prerequisites

      opkg install http://repo.opkg.net/edison/repo/core2-32/libavahi-common3_0.6.31-r11.1_core2-32.ipk

      opkg install http://repo.opkg.net/edison/repo/core2-32/libavahi-client3_0.6.31-r11.1_core2-32.ipk

      opkg install http://repo.opkg.net/edison/repo/core2-32/libcups2_1.7.5-r0_core2-32.ipk

      opkg install http://repo.opkg.net/edison/repo/core2-32/libcupsimage2_1.7.5-r0_core2-32.ipk

      # CUPS

      opkg install http://repo.opkg.net/edison/repo/core2-32/cups_1.7.5-r0_core2-32.ipk

      CUPS install was successful:

      systemctl status cups.service -l

      cups.service - CUPS Printing Service

         Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/cups.service; enabled)

         Active: inactive (dead)

Unfortunately it missed default initialisation as can seen from this output:

      lpstat -t

      scheduler is not running

      no system default destination

      lpstat: Bad file descriptor

      lpstat: Bad file descriptor

      lpstat: Bad file descriptor

      lpstat: Bad file descriptor

      lpstat: Bad file descriptor

I really need some help to go on.

      Thanks

      -max
