    Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 on Dell XPS14 laptop - brightness adjustment has stopped working

      Using latest driver 10.18.10.4252  10/7/15 but the brightness adjustment does not work with Windows 10 after upgrade.

          We recommend you to try first with the manufacture of your equipment to get updates drivers due they are specific for your system, if they don't solve the problem, please visit our download center to get our updated drivers.

          It is important to fully uninstall installed video drivers first, them restart the computer and them you can install the newer version. If problem persist, please contact us again.\

            On the link below you will be able to get the latest drivers for your computer with Windows 10:

            As you can see under "Video" the driver version that Dell has available for your computer is 10.18.10.4242. We strongly recommend to use the ones provided by them since the drivers available on our website are generic versions and can be used for general purposes.               Brightness problem Solved

               

              Intel HD Graphics 4000 with NVIDIA® GeForce® GT650M graphics.

               

              Install:

               

              Intel HD Graphics 4000 Driver,     Driver Date: 8/17/2015

               

              Driver Version: 10.18.10.4276

               

              Make sure you backup your registry first before proceeding!!!!

               

              open regedit  in  Run Command

               

              Registry has wrong value:

               

              Currently reads as :

               

              [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000] "FeatureTestControl"=

               

                                                                                        "Edit DWORD 32 bit"=       f000

               

              Registry with New Value:

               

              You needed to change the value in registry to:  (   f008   )

               

              [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000] "FeatureTestControl"=

               

                                                                                       "Edit DWORD 32 bit"=        f008

               

              Then Restart Computer

               

              Brightness Fixed with Latest driver.
