Just updated. I have a core i5-3570k with HD graphics 4000 on a windows 64 bit machine, went through the whole update procedure and restarted my machine but my graphics drivers don't seem to have been updated. Its still reading that the driver version is 10.18.10.4252.

I believe this is the SAME DRIVER that comes with the windows update when you install windows 10 on the HD 4000. They released the same version but the difference is instead of being automatically downloaded by the windows 10 updates we can download it manually and then install it.

Right, so my driver version should be 15.33.38.64.4252? I just have a few issues with mouse scrolling which was fixed last time through updating a driver that I'm waiting for this time round.

I updated to Windows 10 and have been unable to install a driver for my HD Graphics 4000 on my laptop. It appears under Windows Update but will not install. I downloaded the executable and it failed to install. I downloaded the .zip and ran setup it failed to install. I tried to update the driver under device manager and this attached picture is my error. All other Windows Updates have successfully installed.

I have a Lenovo T530 Windows 10 64-bit.

I currently have driver version 10.18.10.4252 and am trying to upgrade to 15.33.38.64.4252. However, during installation of the new driver, the screen goes black and only the cursor is visible. I eventually have to do a hard shutdown and restart the computer. The computer starts up normally after that, with the old driver installed.

Hello zpreheim,

The driver version you are trying to upgrade is the same version you already have. What happens is that depending on the operating system the first numbers of the driver package will change.

Here you can see the explanation to this:

If 10.18.10.4252 is the same version as 15.33.38.64.4252 then why does the intel driver update utility show this for available drivers:

Don't you think this is a little misleading. To me and every other person who doesn't fully understand driver updates (ie; the people a update utility is designed for) this shows that my driver is out of date. When actually 15.33.38.64.4252 is a driver package and 10.18.10.4252 is apart of that package which also include an audio drive update. This was such an aggravating experience

And now after updating 1000x it shows this for available drivers:

sooooo is 15.33.38.64.4254 the same as 10.18.10.4252?? Is there an explanation as to why its showing this now?? all I can determine is that 10.18.10.4252 is not the same as 15.33.38.64.4252. I'm at a loss for words, so unimpressed.

Hi folks

I have the same problem, my PC is an Vaio SVS Series, with Windows 10 x64 i7-3520M, this is awful for me because I installed the new EA Plants vs Zombies, and when I start the game shows me this message: "Detected Intel driver version # 1 10.18.10.4358 12/21/2015 00:00:00 # 2 10.18.13.6191 02/08/2016 00:00:00. The recommended driver version is xx.xx.15.4251 or later. Please update your drivers at http://donwloadcenter.intel.com/ http://donwloadcenter.intel.com/ before playing the game."

And I do the same that you StrandedOrange, 1000x and works like you, but if I go to device manager and select de properties for intel HD 4000 display for me 10.18.10.4252.

Hey Intel show us the resolution for this horrible issue.

Hi e2cbra,

On laptops, it is recommended to install the latest drivers provided with your system manufacturer. The drivers available on our website are generic and they usually are customized by the laptop manufacturers.

Sony support website is the following:
