Hi all, I now have the parts and have read everything I could find on doing the replacement of four capacitors on my Dell 4700C Intel Motherboard, Serious leaking has brought me to the point of necessesity to do the work.
Can anyone with experience give me some pointers on doing the work successfully and avoiding dry joints? Is it necessary that I remove the RAM cards, Processor and Battery before desoldering? and can I use a pump?
Appreciate any advice..
I should have got back to you people months ago, sorry. As in May 2010 I did the work myself, and it was successful. Re&Re four motherboard caps after complete disassembly. Made a video of the whole processs (in particular: desolbering/resoldering through a waffered motherboard), which I may upload to YouTube.
