Win10 crashes to BSOD after resuming from standby (Intel HD 4400 Windows 10 drivers ?)

I have an ASUS Zenbook UX302LA ultrabook with Intel HD 4400 graphics card. The problem is that after updating to Windows 10 the computer can't anymore resume from standby, but will always crash to blue screen of death.

Because of the video related error code in the message, I believe it could be due to graphics drivers. The issue remained the same with both the Windows built-in (or Windows update delivered) drivers and the one downloaded from Intel's website (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25150/Intel-Iris-Iris-Pro-and-HD-Graphics-Production-Driver-for-Windows-10-64-bit Intel® Download Center)

The difference is that with Windows' drivers the error code shown on the BSOD is the following:

Video_TDR_Failure

 

and with the drivers from Intel's (15.40.4.64.4256 07/28/2015) the following error

 

VIDEO SCHEDULER INTERNAL ERROR

BSOD read e.g. the following:

same probleme with asus n750jk (hd4600 + gtx850m)

last driver for the 2 video card.

standby was fatal (sleep or hibernation) ....

the 2 same several BSOD

but with file igdkmd64.sys

i switch graphics memory size to 128 MB in bios, no more BSOD. (hd4600)

Do it work for you too ?

Incredible! It worked. Is there any downside to set that memory size smaller?

I juste try 256, it's ok too ... don't know if there is really a downside. windows driver propertei say it can use up to 8165MB.

This BSOD is happening to me as well (laptop w/ W10 with 4600HD) - unfortunately I can't change my memory size in the BIOS. Is there any other way to avoid this?

I'm getting the VIDEO SCHEDULER INTERNAL ERROR bsod seemingly randomly. Intel please release new drivers, or come up with a fix.

Just wanna say thanks a lot . changed from 512 to 256 in bios, and no more blue screen when going from sleep mode

I have basically the same laptop and have the same issue. Coming out of the sleep causes various BSOD errors

THe only way you can fix it is to install the ANCIENT drivers from Asus for your Xenbook

Then DEFER WINDOWS UPDATES. Because if you don't, Windows will install the latest drivers anyway and screw you over again. Go to your Advanced Windows Update settings and click "Defer Updates". You still get critical updates. But optional updates like driver updates dont get installed

Intel needs to fix this because otherwise the laptop is useless because I can't do any work on it without fear of losing everything because it went into sleep mode
