Today I've got the message from the windows 10 app gwx.exe my Graphic Media Accelerator 3600 Series version 8.14.8.1096 (Date 10/23/2013) does not fulfill the specifications to get the update to windows 10. My system is a Lenovo S110 with Windows 7 Starter Service Pack 1. I contacted already Lenovo support but they said I have to ask Microsoft. Microsoft said it is the manufacturer (Lenovo? Intel?) who has to provide the latest driver. Does someone also got this problem and does someone have any idea what to do?

Hi anwb! My notebook computer is also Lenovo S110. We also have the same problem I can't upgrade my pc to Windows 10 does anybody know what to do? I have a theory that might solve our problem but it's too risky I think we should uninstall the driver which is Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3600 but I don't think it's a good idea because drivers are necessary in pcs so guys help us we want Windows 10 for free!

Hi guys,

Another one with the problem here, I got an Asus Vivotab Smart with the same Intel GMA 3600 you have in your Lenovo. In fact, the GMA 3600 is present in millions of devices worldwide from all the top manufacturers.

According to the http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intelgma3600/sb/CS-034806.htm GMA 3600 FAQ, intel does not plan to update its driver, leaving all these millions of users without Windows 10 support. It is not a problem that Microsoft nor the device manufacturer (Lenovo, Asus, HP, etc..) have to fix; it's intel itself the one that has to provide a newer, Windows 10 compatible driver for their hardware.

Shame to intel if they don't change their mind...

I have an trying to install windows 10 with my reserved upgrade on a Samsung Ativ Smart PC running an Atom1.80Ghz processor and have encountered an error stating Windows 10 cannot be installed due to an Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator incompatibility issue. I have sought an updated driver at Intel's website, but the current driver that is installed is the most current driver. I see from this thread that Intel has chosen not to provide an update for this driver. Is there a work around or any ideas on how this issue can be resolved?

Hawkes2, I have the same Samsung, same problem. I was on Samsung live chat for 45 mins and no answers. I really think i had a robot system.

If you find an end run, let me know. I really really hate Windows 8.

Hopefully it will not take too long for Intel or Samsung to do this.

Guys,

If you have an Intel Atom Z2760 (or same series) you can update to Windows 10. If you have driver version 9.xxxx you just need to download it from here instead of using the icon on the taksbar:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 Windows 10

(change "en-us" in the URL to your language-country)

I updated my Asus Vivotab Smart ME400C and everything works fine, just some text missing in cortana (and sometimes Edge tabs) but the graphics driver works perfectly: it's smooth, brightness is adjustable, can plug an external monitor, not a single error, etc.

I took the advice of many and installed 10 manually bypassing the update (I updated not a clean install). It installed without a hitch. Its running ok so far, but I have encountered a few issues that seem to be directly related to the drivers for the Intel chip not being updated for windows 10. These are the issues that I have encountered:

1. Lack of video playback on the Netflix and Hulu. On Netflix I get an error stating that it is a system configuration issue and to make sure the certified Windows 8 video and audio drivers are installed(W8156-88890001). On Hulu the error again asks to make sure I have the proper graphics installed (PB4).

2. Video playback on the Tubecast app is chopping if it plays at all regardless of the resolution.

BTW: there are video playback issues on the browser as well.

Is anyone have these or similar issues with video playback on app or at all? Also has anyone been able to solve them?

Thanks.

I extracted the driver from my system so you can try to install it in yours.

Update it directly from the device manager : https://t.co/mszYPwqED0 https://t.co/mszYPwqED0

Let me know the result.

Finally installed the drivers through ASUS, Got the drive from ASUS Driver package on their support site. I did have some audio issues but it seems to have fixed itself out. Hopefully INTEL Updates their drivers. smh... at least it works now!!!

I received the same message (in Italian) on my eee pc Flare series. So, as someone suggested on this forum, I downloaded Windows 10 directly from the Microsoft web site and it works perfectly!

As you can see it uses standard Microsoft video card that it's only 800x600 but it works better than before...

I hope this could be helpful for someone else!

Hi,

I have a Dell Latitude 10 that has an Intel Z2760. I've upgraded to Windows 10 and I'm having some display issues. In some apps, and this includes the new Microsoft Edge browser, parts of the UI do not load correctly. The are either missing, or the wrong colour which makes them impossible to read. When I uninstall the Graphic Media Accelerator driver, the bug goes away. However without a proper display driver, the graphic performance is very low. On this website http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034343.htm Graphics Drivers — Supported Operating Systems Intel says that the Z2700 series is supported in Windows 10. Can you please update the display drivers? Thank you.

As a mather of fact, Allan from Intel confirmed that there won't be Windows 10 support for Graphics Media Accelerator 3600 users/thread/62131 in this very forum.

Also, it's not in the /thread/76992 compatibility list roadmap for Windows 10.

No Windows 10 for us guys.

+1 here with the same problem! (Asus Vivo SmartTab.) Not sure whether or not mine is the 3600 series, but it is a Graphic Media Accelerator issue.

I have confirmed with our engineering department that the graphics controller Intel(R) GMA 3600 will not support Windows 10. The graphics controller was designed to work with Windows 7 32 bit.

http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034343.htm Graphics Drivers — Supported Operating Systems

An official document will be posted at http://intel.com/ Intel: Tablet, 2in1, Laptop, Desktop, Smartphone, Server, Embedded very soon. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Allan.
