Try to force the installation of Intel generic drivers by performing manual procedure, see here for instructions:
http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm Graphics Drivers — Computer Manufacturer Graphics Driver Detected
Select your operating system version and download the zip version of the video driver:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=3rd+Generation+Intel%C2%AE+Core%E2%84%A2+Processors+with+Intel%C2%AE+HD+Graphics+4000 Intel® Download Center
When installing generic drivers, know that all graphics features available for your graphics controller may not be available.

That's exactly what I tried to do, to manually install the driver, but when I select the folder where I unzipped the files, a message appears saying that I already have the latest version installed, which is false because I have the 10.x version and the latest one is 15.x
