Hello all, I am encountering the following issue when trying to install XTU, "verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services". I am trying to install on a newly purchased Asus ROG laptop running Win 8.1. Please see the screenshot for details.
I have tried everything I know over the past 24 hours but to no avail and your help would be much appreciated.

Hello,
Maybe you are using a version of the XTU that is not compatible with windows 8.1, try this version and let me know if it works or not:

It didn't work. I was installing the same version from your link.
It is a Intel Core i7 4720HQ, 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz, GTX980M, 250 SSD EVO III, 128GB SSD, 1TB HDD. It is a Alienware 15.

Hello NetoGB,
The i7 4720HQ is not an unlocked processor; the XTU is basically for "overclocking" and you would need an unlocked system to be able to run it. I Checked the Alienware* website (http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-15/pd http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-15/pd) and I found that this is not unlocked, but it provides some overclocking for the graphics card only and this is done with another utility called the Alienware graphics amplifier.

Hello,
But the thing is that I want to see some information that only XTU could give me. I really want to install this and I know that many users of the Alienware actually use it.

Hello MUNKIESand NetoGB,
I see no recent activity on this thread, could you tell me if the issue was resolved, if it was resolved, please share the solution. If not, could you confirm the build that you are trying to install, is it V6.0.2.201?
Thanks,

I had a similar issue with my gigabyte z97 board. I originally upgraded from windows 8.1 to 10. I had to do a clean install to get this work. Disappointing, but I am now able to use XTU!
