We have a project which needs GPU acceleration of chrome 3D rendering on Ubuntu. The problem is 3D rendering cannot work on i7. However, with a Nvidia card and its driver installed, 3D rendering works and all latest openGL features are supported by Nvidia driver.
It's important for us to get Chrome 3D rendering work in a purely i7 platform to compete Nvidia solution, but there seems to be a gap to get it done. We don't know if HD Graphic driver already enables this openGL feature or if we have miss something to get this feature disabled. Any comments on this, even a software workarround will be acceptable at this stage.
