Errata AW67 in E7400 with main board DG31pr

I recently bought the following for Vmware-ESX 4.0 installation.

1. E7400 Core2Duo processor (SPEC code:SLGW3 ,Ordering code:BX80571E7400)

2. DG31pr Main Board

The main intention of buying this combination is that, the processor supports VT-x and the main board BIOS has the VT enable option.

While installing vmware,i am facing the problem that the processor is not VT copmliant ,though the processor supports VT and the VT option is enabled in BIOS.I finally came to know that the processor suffers from "Errata AW67".The following link talks about a work around for "Errata AW67".

http://www.intel.com/design/processor/specupdt/318733.htm Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E8000 Series and E7000 Series Specification Update .

Currently my main board BIOS version is PRG3110H.86A.0065.2009.0421.1559. Could you please suggest me a solution/work around for this?Is this fixed in later BIOS versions? OR what else needs to be done?

Hi Vamsic

I cant help wondering... why would you pay VMWARE-ESX 4.0 that cost a couple of 1000,s and Install it on a cheap Classic Series Workstation, that is also is incompatible with VMWARE

I don't mean any disrespect, however it is a bizarre configuration
