Some of us have reported an intermittent "flashing graphics" problem in that version driver after resume from sleep. But I don't recall seeing it be blank or all the time. I assume you try something like wiggle mouse or press keyboard after the power button in case the black is just from the "screen saver" type of blanking. But maybe you still might want to try the Beta driver which seems to help this, or find the old 4080 driver which was in a large bundle of NUC drivers. Beta Intel® Iris™ and HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7/8/8.1 32 & 64-bit versions 18.104.22.16806 for Haswell and Broadwell
Thank you Dougho for the reply.
I've tried a few different drivers. Sometimes I get the flickering, but most often the device never returns to showing anything but a black screen (Yep to button power being blue, yes to mouse wiggle and keyboard press) I can see LAN activity also. Next step is to try remote desktop just to see if it's only a video problem
Here is the flickering problem .
System is basically unusable this way unless I turn off all power saving.
I am also running a new NUC5i5RYH with Windows 8.1.
I think we have 2 problems here:
1. Sleep: entering in S3 works, but always black screen if you try to resume (-> hard reset necessary)
2. Grafic flickering after resume from hibernation: not always, but often. (better with driver 4206, but not solved). Workaround: pull the monitor cable and reconnect.
I tried lots of things... no chance until now...
Despite unplugged HDMI when the black screen after sleep, i've never gotten it to take up. Maybe because with that demo box it's on a HDMI to DVI cable. Can't be sure
However, I downgraded to the 4080 driver last night and have set my sleep timer to 2 minutes and I've not had a flicker or blackout problem since. Give that a try and let us know
Also, P.ST is your system set to sleep or hibernate.
Where is Intel support here? I've literally found 10+ posts with the same issues and no solution since 2014.
thank you for the test driver!

The 2. is solved with the test driver! No problems after hibernation now. Thank you.
The 1. has changed: instead of a black screen, I get my home screen after resume from sleep, but the system is frozen. The only thing I can do is moving the mouse. After switching the NUC off (long button press) and turning it back on, it resumes from hibernation. (This is because of the hybrid standby mode. I also tried without hybrid standby -> system freezes, too.)
I also tried the Intel Ready Mode, which works fine. But I would prefer the normal S3 sleep.
