Did you perhaps use a 12V DC adapter?

Make sure the Edison is correctly seated in the expansion board. The board is not supposed to get hot on contact. Do you have any other circuitry attached or just the power supply? Connect a USB cable to your board and see if it gets recognized by the computer.
The Edison is well mounted on the board, already tried the blink example and worked fine (used both micro USB cable in that case, one for monitoring and the other for powering the board)
I'm using a 12V DC adapter now to run it as a host.
What am I doing wrong?
What is the polarity on the 12V dc adapter? I believe my adapter is a positive center.
Yes, I made sure that the positive polarity is in the center (I also tried inverting polarities to make sure, it didn't work in both cases)
I have also tried to power the board through Vin input with 9V DC and got the same problem.
