Forget what I said. It's still restarting randomly. I just installed FarCry 2 and when the game is loading, computer restarts. I removed all memory modules except one and the game runs ok, no restarts. The problem is, certainly, memory incompatibility. Any ideia, unless, change the memories modules?
You are using the wrong memory, on the motherboards specifications clearly state that
Unbuffered, non-registered single- or double-sided DIMMs with a voltage rating of less than 1.6 V. Using a DIMM with a voltage rating higher than 1.6 V may damage the processor.
You need a different memory. Bad news sorry.
Hi Span1shUk, thank you for the answer. Bad news, but its a true news!
So, I'm going to buy new modules, Kingston KVR1333D3N9/2G. It runs at 1.5 v. Kingston says its compatible with this board http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/modelsinfo.asp?SysID=56618&mfr=Intel&model=DP55WB+Motherboard&search_type=&root=us&LinkBack=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kingston.com&Sys=56618-Intel-DP55WB+Motherboard&distributor=0&submit1=Search), so Intel (http://www.cmtlabs.com/mbSearchResults.asp?sManuf=Intel&sMem=DDR3&sMN=DP55WB&oSubmit=Search).
Thank you again,
Is 1.6v ram ok for this board? One of your manual's statements says to use less than 1.6v, while the other says to not use higher than 1.6v.
I guess using 1.6V module should be alright. However just to be on the safe side better to go for memory modules that have a voltage of less than 1.6V.
Thank you very much for your replies. Let me expand on what I have. I am running this board with an I7-860 and 64bit WIN 7 . The RAM that I'm using is GeIL EVO ONE 2 x 2GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) GE34GB1600C7DC which is 7-7-7-24 and 1.6v. The only changes that I made to the BIOS were to set the speed to 1600 and the voltage to 1.6v. It had already auto set to 7-7-7-24. I just got it up and running today, but it seems to be working perfectly. If I have problems, I'll definitely try your suggestion and report back to this thread.
Thanks Again !!!!
