The Audio Drivers that you mention are drivers for Windows Vista not for Windows 7. Windows 7 Unfortunately is not supported, validated or tested with your motherboard and is normal that you experience issues.
Is probably best to install Windows Vista, as you have all the drivers you need on the Web site.
I would say it would be worth testing without the front panel connected at all. The plug the mic in teh back and see what happens. I doubt that it would help. but surely it must be worth a try instead of just "installing Vista"!!!!
I also have dq965gf motherboard and i'm aslo running windows 7 ultimate 32bit and i also had a problem with audio drivers... i had sigmatel audio drivers, i got them on my motherboard cd, but i uninstalled them and then downloaded AUD_allOS_D20001.0x_PV_IDTGUI_v105_Legacy and install that audio driver package... and it works on w7 either it's for vista,xp etc and now i'm going to try to set up my mic try that it worked for me
