You're following the directions at http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-009740.htm , yeah? Are you sure you chose the right SCSI ID?
Not sure if the 42X writes some extraneous data that the ZCR just can't read. I think you'd be better off going from a 42X to a ZCRX, rather than a ZCR, if you have that option.
Yes, I went into StorCon (DOS) and also Stor Con Plus (Windows) and tried the F8 and still it shows.
I already had this raid controller and I thought I would use it. The drives work fine and the RAID array works fine, but when you see an error for each drive at start-up (in the DOS screen) it makes you a bit uncomfortable.
If it will not affect anything I would be willing to leave it alone, but if this could turn into trouble later I would rather deal with it now.
I also tried breaking the array and recreating it - to no avail.
I have not tried overwriting the MBR - I am not sure that this would fix it or not so I did not do it.
Yeah, I don't know that overwriting the MBR would even do anything useful. Sorry, I wish I could be of more assistance.
