I am currently having issues installing Windows XP on a brand new computer.
Motherboard - Intel DG41RQ
Operating System - Windows XP Professional SP1
Optical Drive - Samsung S-ATA Drive [HL-DT-ST DVDRA]
Floppy Drive - None
Operating System CD loads through as normal until I get a BSOD. Info is as follows:
STOP: 0x00000007E (0x0000005,0xF748E0BF, 0xF78DA208,0xF78D9F08)
pci.sys - Address F748E0BF base at F7487000, DateStamp 3b7d855c
- Now I have been researching the issue for the past week and have determined that I need the motherboard drivers for the harddrive in order to properly load the OS. [I have never done so before but have had very limited experience when S-ATA HDDs first came out.] I have search high and low for this driver but have been able to find it. Please help me solve this issue as I need to get this up and running ASAP.
Download Windows XP SP2.
Use a software called Nlite to slipstream the SP2 into your Windows XP SP1, this will allow you to create a new Windows XP with Sp2 already in it.
Burn the CD.
Go into BIOS.
Configure SATA as IDE
Try to install it again.
All the best,
Tips how to integrate drivers using Nlite, use same principle to build your new OS.
