Yep, I also couldn't install CentOS 5.3 in the graphical mode. It always gave an error after the Anaconda installer started saying Display Not Found or something like that. After three attempts I gave up and installed using the text mode.
I too would like to know how to get the graphical mode install to work.
Even under text mode I am experiencing issues such as once I have partitioned the drive and removed all the addons to the point I am only installing BASE the setup checks all depandancies and then bombs out.
What arch are you using with Centos 5.3? x86 or x86_64?
